The guideline is the token.
The distinguishing move on this project: the brand is implemented as system constraints, not as guidance a designer is asked to follow. There is nothing to remember, because a rule that is not obeyed does not build.
We are not a treatment centre. We are a place where people understand their health.
- Clarity over confusion.
- Prevention over reaction.
- Education over persuasion.
- Consistency over improvisation.
- Trust over transactions.
- Fear-based marketing.
- Miracle claims.
- Unnecessary treatments.
- One-size-fits-all recommendations.
- False certainty.
A rejection list is only worth something if something downstream obeys it.
From the Brand & Identity document, 19 July 2026. The sentence that does the work is the one that follows: natural therapies are one of the ways we achieve this — not our identity.
Each rule, and the configuration value it became.
| Brand guideline | What it is in the token file |
|---|---|
| Square corners everywhere | Every named radius returns zero, including the ones nobody uses — so a new rounded class cannot reintroduce a radius by accident. Only the pill radius survives, for dots and avatars. |
| No shadows | Every shadow token returns none. A hairline ring survives, because the system uses borders for structure rather than depth. |
| A fixed spacing scale | Base eight, named for what they separate rather than their size. Only these steps. No 10s, no 15s, no eyeballed values. |
| Four type sizes and only four | Display 88, heading 40, body 16, label 12 at 0.14em. Display and heading keep their own names so no call site drifts to 54 because it looked better. |
| Body grey on cream | #3A473F — taken from the guideline document's own stylesheet, where it appears 67 times, rather than eyeballed. |
| Sage is a surface colour | A surface and a data colour only. Never a text colour on cream, never a background for cream type. |
| Nothing spins | No spin animation ships. The waiting state is three petals brightening in sequence, opacity only. |
Real artwork already existed.
Six calligraphic strokes at sixty-degree steps, the centre left open.
- Before
- The build log records catching the AI collaborator inventing a logo when the founder's own artwork was already in the brand bundle.
- What forced it
- The artwork was there. Drawing something close to it would have been faster and would have produced a mark nobody could point at a source for.
- The decision
- Vector-trace the supplied files. The component that renders the mark states it plainly: these outlines are not redrawn or re-derived from the typeface — they are the founder's own rosette and petal files, traced.
- What it changed
- The component carries the rules with it. Never outline it, never gradient it, never rotate the assembled rosette; one flat brand colour per instance, which is why it takes the current colour and offers no fill option at all. Below 24px the rosette collapses into a blur, so a single petal carries the brand there instead.
The stroke is open — the counter runs out through the gap at the foot rather than being enclosed — which is, in the component's own words, exactly what makes it read as one drawn gesture instead of a closed ring.
A rule enforced by the system does not require anybody to remember it at four in the afternoon on a Friday.
The build log, after a suspected brand violation turned out to be a class doing nothing
Red means clinical risk. Never a delete button. Never an overdue payment.
The brand palette
Paper · #FAF8F2
The reading surface.
Deep Green · #0F3D2E
The alternating ground. Cream on it, never white — white reads colder and is not one of the four approved pairs.
Sage · #CFDBC3
Surface and data only.
Semantic, staff-facing only
Critical · #A32B2B
The token file states the restriction itself: retained for staff-facing software only. The guidelines forbid traffic lights on anything a patient sees.
What a patient sees instead
On plan · Awaiting · Review
Three values drawn from the brand palette rather than from a warning vocabulary. A result is a number with a sentence beside it, not a verdict in colour.
If red appears on an overdue invoice, red stops meaning risk. Diluting it is how clinical software becomes unsafe.
Archivo carries everything.
- Archivo for headline, label and paragraph — SIL Open Font Licence, clear
- Ibarra Real Nova for pull-quotes and taglines only, never navigation, buttons or data — also clear
- Verified in the browser rather than asserted: 88px first heading, grounds alternating, 22 prose blocks at a widest measure of exactly 680px, zero radii, no tap target under 44px
- The display face is a trial cut. The guidelines say so themselves: purchase a desktop and web licence before any public use, and the site is live and commercial
- The licence note scopes the exposure precisely — one font declaration and the traced mark, and nothing else in the codebase references it
- No photography exists. The guidelines require the centre's own rooms and forbid stock, and the project's own records call this the largest remaining gap
- Two sources disagree on the mark's derivation: the component says traced from the founder's files, the licence note says derived from the typeface. The code is the authority on what the mark is, so this study reports it and names the disagreement rather than resolving it
Nothing in this study, or in the artifact it fronts, is set in the trial face. Everything is Archivo, which the real system already uses for all structural type — so nothing is approximated and nothing is substituted by eye.
The brand cannot drift, because drift will not build.
